Purebreed dogs are dogs that are pedigreed. A pedigreed dog usually means that they come strongly from a line of pure bred dogs. They are mostly registered in the American Kennel Club or the United Kennel Club. They have documented papers that prove their lineage showing their family tree as well as their history.
Usually dog owners keep this breed for shows and exhibitions. These are dogs that are produced because of selective breeding. This means that they were bred for certain qualities.
